Why Transformer Primary Fuse is small & secondary Fuse is big

A Transformer structure consists of Primary & Secondary Fuses and Bushes with GOS(Group operating system/Switch)

In Transformers primary fuse is a small conductor and the Secondary fuse is a big conductor  because the Primary line voltage is a high voltage line and the current is low so use small conductors and the secondary Line voltage is Low and the Current is High so use big size conductor

The Distribution transformer Either 25KVA 63KVA & 100KVA etc. converts 11kv voltage to 230v Phase-Neutral & Phase-Phase 415/440v.

  • Primary voltage is 11kv & Low current.
  • Secondary Voltage 230vP-N & 415/440v P-P.
